Cider comes from the fermentation of apple or pear juice, without the addition of any alcoholic liquor, or any substance which communicates colour or flavour.

Cider has a long history in the UK. Thought to have first reached our shores long before the Norman Conquest, it has always been a popular choice - with is becoming customary in the 18th Century to pay part of a farm labourer's wage in cider! Since moving from this smaller scale production in the 1950s the cider market has continued to grow and evolve, now offering a diverse range of styles from Traditional Ciders all the way through to lighter, fruitier Ciders.

Craft Ciders

Beer is not the only drinks category undergoing a craft revolution, the Cider category has experienced a surge in craft Ciders coming through to the market since early 2015. Traditionally, craft ciders would have been bag in box, unpasteurised and un-carbonated, and sometimes for acquired tastes. These would experiment with new ingredients to develop the complexity of their Ciders.

There's now a new generation of craft cider producers taking a more modern contemporary approach to cider making (and branding!) in an attempt to attract a new generation of consumers into the Cider category.

Made in a carbonated keg solution, served colder for that refreshing cider finish, but maintaining natural and high quality of ingredients and fermentation processes.

We've joined forces with Sheppy's Cider, a 200 year old family-run farm in Somerset with a long-standing reputation for high quality cider. Using only the finest West Country cider apples, our cider is fermented and matured in traditional oak vats for an exceptionally clean, natural, refreshing apple flavour.

Fruit Ciders

The premium fruit market has exploded in recent years, with many mainstream cider and black drinkers of old making a permanent trade-up into this category. Your fridge is an important weapon in this segment, stocking a variety of interesting flavours alongside your stalwart red fruits variant.
